Using temporal unfolding in addition to spatial relations, Faces of Captial will be analysed, both through individual works and then as an entire exhibition. Artists with different kinds of practices will be engaged where objects, videos, wall pieces and performances build a scenario that is seen as a whole experience organised by a temporal unfolding. From static to video, to voice, to image, to object, to body.

Workshops with exhibiting artists have involved group discussions about how artworks can connect to other artworks and how a navigational path can be constructed to build the exhibition. Time is privileged as well as space.

In terms of content, there is a focus on what we might be becoming? How will futures be built, or how will we exit the scenario in light of AI futures we are building which are compounding capitalist drives of excess of the few? McKenzie Wark frames present day capitalism as something even worse than what has ever been imagined under capitalism – and that which is under increasing tech governance, as AI expands. What do people look like under this class of capitalism? What behaviours are incited? In this, how do we inhabit? There is no simple “we” as the likes of Rosi Braidotti have instated “We Are In This Together, But We Are Not One and the Same”. So in this exhibition, we seek to show a range of possible scenarios and one overall image, as a temporal unfolding in the gallery.
